Chapel Ln, Templeowen, Tullow, Co. CarlowWe are pleased to announce this year's retreat with Donal Creedon in Teach Bhride. The 2026 retreat will run from 7 pm Friday 14th August until Saturday 22nd August after lunch.
There is always a keen response to Donal’s retreats in Ireland so places are limited. Therefore we encourage you to register your place soon. In the case of over subscribing we keep a reserve list.
Ideally one should commit to the whole of the retreat, and priority will be given to those who can. Once you do join the retreat we request you stay until the end.
Teach Bhride is a holistic education centre situated in the small town of Tullow in County Carlow. There is a dedicated group meditation room, a large sitting room, dining/kitchen area which includes a small 24 hour kitchen with fridge/coffee machine. The house is set in quiet private parkland with plenty of trees, walkways and seating.
Our retreat is lead by Donal Creedon and the programme usually includes early morning meditation before breakfast, a Dharma talk/instruction followed by two practise sessions before lunch. The afternoon meditation ends with a discussion/dialogue period before supper. The evening meditation includes a guided metta practice. Silence is observed each day from 10 pm until 12.30pm the following day.
However, the schedule is not fixed and we reserve the right to amend it based on Donal's advice.
The retreat fee below includes a small donation to Donal's expenses. We will make a collection for Donal during the retreat, you may also donate directly to him online, details below.
Meals are vegetarian, and vegan/gluten free diets catered for if notice is given.
The retreat will begin on Friday 14th evening after supper. We understand it may not be possible for everyone to make it on time, please let us know if due to travel arrangements if you will be late arriving.

Accommodation:
It would be preferable for retreatants to take a single room, however to accommodate people sharing – there are three ensuite twin bed rooms. Please note that some extra single ensuite rooms are now also available (to women only) in a separate building one minute walk from the main house. If due to illness or injury this would prove difficult please advise us.Meals are vegetarian, and vegan/gluten free diets catered for if notice is given.

Below are the full retreat fees (per person) based on accommodation type. They don't include an offering to Donal. Options include all meals (excellent vegetarian food, all snacks, tea /coffee). The kitchen is open 24 hrs for refreshments. There is a fridge available for residents if you need to bring special food. Accommodation cost includes a small contribution towards Donal's expenses.

To register a place please email bodhicharya.ireland@gmail.com with subject line ‘Tullow Retreat 2026’ along with your name and preferred room type.We will then confirm if there is a room available and ask you to transfer a deposit of €100 (to the bank account below) as soon as possible to secure your place.

If you become unable to attend the retreat, the deposit is refundable up until June 22nd. After that date we can only refund it if there is someone to take your place. We’ll send out reminders for both payment deadlines.
The remainder of your payment must be paid by bank transfer before August 1st.
The retreat fee doesn't include a donation to Donal for his time and teachings. We will make a collection at the retreat, or you may donate via PayPal here :

Directions coming in the Baltinglass N81 road to TullowDrive straight in to Tullow, past the housing estates until you see Texaco Petrol Station and Aldi on the right, school on the left. The garda barracks is in the middle of the Y in the road. Veer left at the Garda Barracks and come to a crossroads with a shop on the left. Proceed with caution straight through. Ignore the first turn to the left. Take the next left turn and the Church is facing you. Drive down and in around to the left of the Church, over a speed bump, through a set of double gates (marked private property). Teach Bhride is the three storey building to the left, with the fountain in front of the hall door. |
| Directions coming in from Castledermot Rd R418 Come straight in to town until you come to a T junction at the bridge, Bridge House Pub in front of you. Turn left and proceed straight uphill to the top of the town. Veer right at fork in the road and take an immediate right at the crossroads, down past the school on the left-hand side. Ignore the first turn off to the left and take the second turn to left. Church is straight in front of you. Drive down and into the church grounds keeping to the left of the Church, over a speed bump, through a set of double gates marked private property. Directions walking from the bus stop in the Market Square, Tullow.When you disembark, face uphill towards the top of the town. Proceed uphill until you come to the Tara Arms Pub on your right. Turn right at the pub and keep walking straight all the way until you get to the Church. Go in around the left-hand side of the Church, over the speed bump, through a set of double gates, marked Private Property. Teach Bhride is the three storey building on the left with the fountain in front of the hall door. (about 5 mins) |
