Chapel Ln, Templeowen, Tullow, Co. CarlowWe are pleased to announce this year's retreat with Donal Creedon in Teach Bhride. The 2020 retreat will run from Friday 11th September until Friday 18th September.
There is always a keen response to Donal’s retreats in Ireland so places are limited. Therefore we encourage you to register your place soon. In the case of over subscribing we keep a reserve list.
Teach Bhride is a holistic education centre situated in the small town of Tullow in County Carlow. There are several group rooms, a large sitting room, dining/kitchen area which includes a small 24 hour kitchen with fridge/coffee machine. The house is set in quiet private parkland with plenty of trees, walkways and seating.
Our retreat is lead by Donal Creedon and usually includes an early morning meditation session, a morning Dharma talk/instruction and practice followed by another meditation session before lunch. This is followed by another afternoon meditation session with a Discussion/Dialogue session before supper. The evening meditation session is followed by a guided Avalokiteshvara (Chenrezig) practice. Silence will be observed each day from early morning until 12.30pm.
However, the schedule is not fixed and we reserve the right to amend the schedule based on Donal's wishes.
Vegan/gluten free diets catered for if plenty of notice is given.
The retreat will begin on Friday 11th evening after supper. We understand it may not be possible for everyone to make it on time, please let us know if due to travel arrangements if you will be late arriving.
€100 of this is payable in advance as your deposit to secure your place on the retreat. If you become unable to attend the retreat, the deposit is refundable up until June 30th. After that date we can only refund it if there is someone to take your place.
When making your transfer, please include your name and "Retreat 2020" in the transfer details.
The remainder of your payment must be paid by bank transfer before August 11th. We’ll send out reminders for both payment deadlines.

Accommodation:
It would be preferable for retreatants to take a single room, however to accommodate people sharing – please state preference for double or twin. Please note that some extra single ensuite rooms are now available (to women only) in a separate building a short walk from the main house. Directions coming in the Baltinglass N81 road to TullowDrive straight in to Tullow, past the housing estates until you see Texaco Petrol Station and Aldi on the right , school on the left. The garda barracks is in the middle of the Y in the road. Veer left at the Garda Barracks and come to a crossroads with a shop on the left. Proceed with caution straight through. Ignore the first turn to the left. Take the next left turn and the Church is facing you. Drive down and in around to the left of the Church, over a speed bump, through a set of double gates (marked private property). Teach Bhride is the three storey building to the left, with the fountain in front of the hall door. |
Directions coming in from Castledermot Rd R418 Come straight in to town until you come to a T junction at the bridge, Bridge House Pub in front of you. Turn left and proceed straight uphill to the top of the town. Veer right at fork in the road and take an immediate right at the crossroads, down past the school on the left-hand side. Ignore the first turn off to the left and take the second turn to left. Church is straight in front of you. Drive down and into the church grounds keeping to the left of the Church, over a speed bump, through a set of double gates marked private property. Teach Bhride is the three storey building to the left, with the fountain in front of the hall door. |

Directions walking from the bus stop in the Market Square, Tullow.When you disembark, face uphill towards the top of the town. Proceed uphill until you come to the Tara Arms Pub on your right. Turn right at the pub and keep walking straight all the way until you get to the Church. Go in around the left-hand side of the Church, over the speed bump, through a set of double gates, marked Private Property. Teach Bhride is the three storey building on the left with the fountain in front of the hall door. |
